Holidays have always been linked to sweets and pastries
Every holiday has its own special dessert, and every place has its own traditional recipe. That's why Pane e Salame takes inspiration from Roman tradition, while also incorporating the traditional sweets of other Italian regions. Among the Christmas desserts, of course, are pandoro and panettone, handcrafted under the watchful eye of Manuela. In particular, we offer several variations of the Christmas panettone: in addition to the classic version with raisins and candied fruit, the classic version with just raisins and almonds, and also the whole wheat version with berries or chocolate and pear. And who could forget the struffoli, nougat, and brittle in so many variations?
Carnival sweets are for all tastes! Classic frappe with powdered sugar, chocolate, or honey, and simple castagnole with alchermes or filled with ricotta, cream, and chocolate are just a few of the many variations available.
Easter desserts include the classic glazed Colomba cake and Neapolitan pastiera, as well as the delicious cheese pizza made according to a family recipe passed down from generation to generation.
But if you really want to capture the essence of Pane e Salame's holiday desserts, you can't miss the March 19th, Father's Day, event with their St. Joseph's cream puffs! A true highlight, thanks to the cream stirred according to tradition, with egg and milk, and without any preparation. A guaranteed success!
Every holiday is a great excuse to indulge in holiday sweets! Valentine's Day and Mother's Day are definitely on our list, special days we celebrate with small, romantic heart-shaped cakes (serves 2-4 people). Also on March 8th, we serve mimosa cakes, and Halloween, where the little ones can enjoy pumpkin, witch, and bat-shaped sweets and cookies.
Whether they're Christmas sweets or Carnival sweets, deliciousness is guaranteed: come and try them!
